check the switch to make sure it is not turned all the way to"constant on".if that doesn't do it check dome lights, they may have been left on. if that's not the case, check all door switches, you may have a bad one. after these steps, you may need a new bcm or door cables have disconnects in the bundle.

I had the same problem on my jeep, check for a broken wire in the rubber wire boot housing of the door. You will have to reattach the wire by taping it or using a wire coupler.

I had the same issue and did not realize that if you press the light itself it will turn off.

I have a stock 1994 Cherokee xj with manual everything. The owners manual only covers the optional dome lights that you could add, but nothing about the dome light with no switch or push lense. I accidentally found that my dash dimmer and dome light control is built in to the head light knob. If I turn the knob all the way to the left I can feel a click and the dome stays on constant on. By turning it to the right I can feel it click again and still maintain a bright dash, shut the door and my dome will shut off. Hope this will someday help another person.

I have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Sport. The only thing I hate about the car is that you cannot turn the dash lights off totally at any time. They stay on when the switch is in accessory or run position you cannot manually turn them off. You can only dim dashlights when the headlights are on. Aggravating when going to the drive-in or wanting to sit and park with the car running LOL
