99' jeep Grand Cherokee
Suddenly the power windows on my Jeep quit
working(passenger side only)and the power locks
I had a 2000 grand cherokee and had this same problem. On the drivers door between the hinges there is a rubber boot for the wire harness. As time and miles add to the jeep, opening and closing the door the wire harness gets pinched and eventually the wires in the harness break. I cut open that boot checking the wires and found two that were cut. I spliced the cut wires and Badabing issue was fixed. After some research you will find this is a common problemo . It's a fairly easy fix.
Thank you Car Guru Guy! i checked the wiring harness in the door jam and found a blue wire hanging. the other half was fused to a red wire. my friend straightened out that issue by just fusing the 2 blue together and wrapping tape around the red. No resolve. Next we checked fuses and found 5 or 6 no good. Replaced those. Now NONE of the windows work and no headlights. Suddenly they came on and decided to call it a night. On my way home all the windows worked (except the front passenger which went up but stopped 4 inches from top, which is where it is now. Why would it stop like that? Weird things with this car ever since i bought it last spring :/ go figure. Thanks so much!
