Keyless Entry/Clock/Temp/MPG Not working

Asked by Mar 02, 2019 at 09:49 AM about the 2014 Subaru Outback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2014 Outback. My clock suddenly stopped displaying (that is also the
Temp reading and MPG thing). Then when I got out of my car after noticing
that the remote wouldn't work to lock the car. I tried y husbands remote and it
didn't work either. I'm assuming a fuse blew. But, how do I figure out which
fuse it is? Not sure if this is a coincidence or not by my drivers side rear puddle
light stopped working 3 weeks before these things stopped. There isn't a recall
on my puddle lights.

Did you ever get an answer to your question? Same problems on a friend's car.

Yes, I did get an answer. The puddle lights on my car were an add on. When the cover over the lights gets a crack the water can get in. Then it shorts out something. So, Subaru was willing to replace my puddle lights package but they had the potential to crack again from rocks and stuff. Which I think is ridiculous since its an all wheel drive vehicle that is intended for various activities and I live on a gravel road. So, I did not fix the puddle lights. I just fixed the spark plug that shorted and my mechanic disconnected the puddle lights. I was bummed cause I liked the puddle lights. But the newer models have the puddle lights built into the frame of the car. At least they fixed it for the newer ones.
