Crazy seemingly unrelated electrical problem

Asked by marti1994 Apr 15, 2016 at 04:57 PM about the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

well first of all I have a 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee..
So literally randomly out of no where about a
month ago I started having weird issues.
1.) my car randomly beeps telling me my coolant is
low, and windshield fluid is out, when its clearly
not. its not just when I start my car, it happens
randomly as im driving too.
2.) its almost as if my car doesn't recognize when
my drivers door it open, it doesn't tell me its open
on the little temperature thing, my lights don't
come on when I open my drivers door. my car wont
ding if my keys are in the ignition. my car doesn't
ding if I leave my head lights on.
3.) this is probably the worst, none of my window
buttons work. not on my door, passenger door,
back passenger door or back drivers door, my
power window buttons don't work, and my lock
button doesn't work, only thing that works is the
lock button on the passenger side.  BUT.. if I reach
back into my back seat on the drivers side, and
hold the window button, either up or down, doesn't
matter, I hear a thumping, or clicking noise inside
my drivers door. now when holding that window
button on the back  drivers side door, my
passenger window, and back passenger window
can go down, the back drivers window will go down
so slowly, literally it moves a millimeter every 2
seconds, and moves just as slow putting it back
up. however, holding my back drivers side window
button does not do anything for the drivers side
window. I can use my mirror buttons, my lock
buttons, I can roll down my passenger window, and
back passenger window, although. when I use the
buttons on my drivers door to roll down the
passenger windows, it only moves with the
thumps, or clicks that I hear inside my drivers door.
also I mentioned earlier that when I open my door
lights don't come on, and it doesn't say "drivers
door open" if I push that back drivers side window
button with my drivers door open, the lights will
come on, it'll say my door is open. it'll ding if I put
my keys in the ignition. I then shut my drivers door,
and its still dinging, lights remain on, it still says my
drivers door is open, but I just shut my door... then
if I push that back drivers side window again. as
soon as I hear that thump or click in my drivers
side door the lights turn off, its stops dinging. and
it now says the temp outside instead of "driver
door open" it doesn't do it with any other doors. if I
open any other doors the lights come on. and it
tells me which door is open.
does anyone have any idea whats happening? how
are these issues related? why does my back
drivers side window button basically decide when
my doors open, why does it make my windows
kind of work? it is literally the weirdest thing, every
time I ask someone they're dumbfounded. how are
these problems related?
one last sort of important thing, before all these
problems started. none of the buttons on my
drivers door worked when my door was open, it
was my moms car and it did that sense I got it.
which leads me to believe that my buttons don't
work and windows wont go down cause my car
thinks my door is open, but it doesn't explain why
the passenger door, back passenger door, and
back drivers side door buttons don't work unless
the back drivers side door button is being help in a
up or down position. I really hope someone has
some kind of idea as to what is happening.

yeah- not crazy at all- it is an old Jeep and they are not the most reliable- from here on, there will be many problems- and you can either have them all fixed or get rid of that thing-

yeah but whats causing it? I don't want to take it in to get looked at bc they over charge and my dad and boyfriend can probably fix it, but we don't know whats causing it, would it be a problem in my door?
