Wouldnt start just got one, click then lost all cabin power

Asked by Mike Jan 18, 2018 at 06:07 PM about the 1989 GMC Sierra 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1989 GMC Sierra. I put a new battery in it
about a year ago ran great like a champ for a little
bit. About 6 months back it dropped a ball joint so
when I replaced it and started driving it after a little
bit of setting, the battery had died so I recharged it
after I recharged it and fix the ball joint I started to
notice little things going wrong with it like stalling
on me in the middle of the intersection along with
numerous other little electrical issues. Then it
started doing this I would start right up the first
time of the day and then might or might not the
next time I go to start it without a jump, when I
would hook it to cables it would jump and jump
start it right up. Then after about a month of
dealing with that issue I was hooked up to another
car about to start it and heard a pop like a breaker
in a house snapping, after hearing the pot I lost all
cabin power and don't know if it's a wire or fuse if
someone could please help I would be
appreciative.

Ok would that likn make the whole cabin lose power even with the battary connected, that is still good.

Ok so ive checked all links and seem fine i did find my power cable had been doctored and was rotted but now i got power back, bought a new starter, and i still just get the gauges hit then go back not trying to start. Im getting flustered cause i cant find the issue.
