1989 GMC Sierra 1500 5.7 4WD/2WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed the engine out a few months ago
and it’s been driving fine. I found a leak
coming from my power steering pump and
tried to make it home to get the proper tools
to fix it but that’s when the truck would stop
shifting gears. It just revs up now in first gear,
will not move at all and will not go in reverse.
I checked transmission fluid and it’s fine but I
hear an awful grinding/scraping noise coming
from what I think is the transmission. Is it
time for a new transmission? Or possibly
something else?
