Put new engine in truck. Turns over but no spark out of hei distributor. Distributor check fine on bench

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

New engine in 1972 GMC.
No spark coming out of
distributor. 12volts going
in. Distributor works fine
on jig. Put new distributor
in and same thing.

You might be 180 degrees out. Try lifting the distributor and turning it 180 degrees the lower it back in. Happens all the time!!
