Alternator

Asked by May 16, 2018 at 08:30 PM about the 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2012 Captiva would not start, key would not even move.  Dealer said the
alternator was running too fast or high and while battery was like-new, I needed
a new alternator.  Not having a spare $1,000, I went to a reputable repairman
who replaced the alternator. But even the new one is running fast.  What's the
next move?
