I have bought a used car with imperial select they only gave me one key with no duplicate key
Are they allowed to do that, I was never told that the car has no duplicate key only to find that out after I have signed the deal. Who must pay for the duplicate key is it me or the car dealer?
Ask your salesman if they will eat the cost of a duplicate key. If not, your stuck paying for one.
You may NOT realize this, but this is significant! Those keys cost between $350 to $750 depending on the features. If you have a transponder key that opens the door while the key is in your pocket and have push button start, the key will be in the $700 range.
Depending what country you are in. Pirate keys are available without the transmitter and the person coding the keys can fit the correct one at cost less that the key from the dealership. By rights there should be duplicate keys as any further keys coded to you car require at least two keys
