new front brakes on 1999 E150. ABS light is on. Should it be on?

No. Was the system opened up when the brake were replaced? If so they may not have been bled properly.


bleed all again and clean the units


The ABS light is indicating something wrong with the ABS system. No it should not be on. Usually it is a wheel sensor, or a bad wire from the connector on up, or even a broken wire. Fastest way to find where to look would be to have the vehicle scanned for the ABS codes. That will tell you where to look for, an what kind of problem to look for.
