You don't. Each time you start the vehicle the ABS and airbag system computers both run a diagnostics test on the systems. If a problem is found the system is disabled and the warning light stays on. The systems are cleared each time the ignition is turned off. These computers do not store trouble codes. HTH. -Jim
There are ABS trouble codes. If the light is on there should be a code to direct you to the problem area.
Correct, F O R, however the computer(s) must be scanned when the light(s) are on during that ignition cycle. Once the ignition is turned off the codes are cleared until the vehicle is started again and the light(s) remain on again. This can be a problem with intermittent issues. HTH. -Jim
