1986 Ford F150 won't start

Asked by GuruVM9XR Sep 16, 2018 at 01:02 AM

Question type: General

I have a 1986 Ford F150 with the 300 inline 6 got it
from a friend of mine and he wasn't sure what was
wrong with it, will not run it cranks over and trys
but will start with starting fluid but will then die. It's
a dual tank pickup and I feel like the fuel pumps r
fine. Could it be the carb? Or something else I'm
very unsure

You have a fuel issue , check for power and ground at the pump disconnect , may be the tank select switch , do you hear the fuel pump prime the system when you hit the key ? Some of those ahd a high pressure and low pressure fuel pumps

Been doing some work to it I pulled my fuel line off the carb and stuck it in a gas can and then turned key to run to see if gas is making it to carb and it wasn't. So my question is where do I look to find the ground for the fuel pumps?

Both fuel pumps are not working on my 1986 ford f150 with the inline 6 I'm starting to think it could be the fuel pump relay does anyone know where the relay would be located?
