Maintanence other than Oil change

Asked by Oct 20, 2015 at 07:49 PM about the 2013 Toyota Corolla

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I purchased a 2013 Toyota Corolla a year ago. I had just over 24K miles on it.
I have had oil change every 5k miles using synthetic oil. Mechanics say the
engine is neat, "almost like new". Do I need to take my car for more detailed
preventive maintenance? If so, how often? Thank you

did you check the service/maintenance intervals in the owners manual? At 24K, you should have replaced the air and cabin filter. Fuel filter at 30K.

Just keep up with a general maintenance schedule, tune ups, oil & filter changes, breaks, coolant system, etc. If you are planing on keeping the car for a while, have a detail shop give it the works on the interior, & a good waxing of body paint & rims...

Go to this link, have your VIN ready and you can see all maintenance done on your car. It is not necessary to have the oil changed every 5,000 miles. Your calls for 0W20 synthetic oi and can be easily double that. 10,000 miles. Rotate tires. and that's about it. The rest of scheduled maintenance is inspect this and that - https://ssl.toyota.com/owners/login

Thank you all for your quick response. Tom, the car had already 24k miles when I bought it and I ran a carfax check on it. The previous owner had regular chek ups taken care of. I think that´s why the mechanics told me the car engine look "almost like new". Thank you. Rowefast: good advise. thank you FordNut: I am on it. Thank you.
