Delayed shift from 1st to second

My 2013 Chevrolet Impalaa jersk when I shift from
1st to 2nd.  it is also low on transmission fluid

The two are related. Fix the transmission fluid leak by replacing the gasket or seal, and make sure the level is at the proper level before damage occurs.
