Idle and acceleratio

Question type: General

Hey all. I have a 2013 dodge journey. Battery light
and check engine light are on. Car has trouble
accelerating. No trouble starting and doesnt stall.
Engine idle sounds off but not loud. Just not
normal. Car lunges at some points but also wont
accelerate properly at some points too. Any ideas. I
will take it for a check engine check tomorrow. But
for now just trying to get an idea. Also no shaking
while driving or sitting. Ive checked the battery and
alternator belt. No problems noticed around the
terminals or bubbling on battery. Belt is nice and
tight. No sounds coming from alternator.

Needs alternator and maybe battery. fix those first and that might fix the problem all together, newer cars start acting up when the power is not sufficient

Before u start throwing parts at it, take it to ur local auto parts store and have the charging system as well as read the codes, for free. Dependig what they tell u, go from there

P2173 code. Mechanic says it could be ice in a line. P2173 is a lean code. Too much air. Vacuum leak

Codes only narrow down the problem this code means the problem is related to: MAP Sensor MAP Sensor harness is open or shorted MAP Sensor circuit poor electrical connection, bad or stuck throttle position sensor (TPS), Faulty Throttle Body or a vacuum leak. Now u have to check for obvious things like broken or disconnected vacuum hose, loose or disconnected sensors, clean throttle body and problem still there, need to have it diagnosed with a live data scanner to test the sensors

I have Dodge Journey 2017 sat still it goes crazy sound like isle r roar so loud any idea what d problem is

GuruMK3QD to answer your question, we have the same issue, the car is willing to crank and idle just fine, but no power is actuated and there is a squealing noise from the front under body on the drivers side of the car, we think it had to do with the trans at first but the car was willing to shift through every gear and even to shift into second through slapstick, but the car only spiked RPM's when given gas, this probably leads to small issues like too much air, too little fuel or too little air and too much fuel, which will cause problems later in the future, this doesn't explain the squealing but it could be a vacuum line.
