Auto trans 2013 Outback

My 13 outback seems to not be shifting out of 5th gear.  The rpms run up to
about 5000 at like 80 mph.   I hit the + paddle on the right side and the it will
shift.  Is there a reset or is this something the dealer needs to look at.  My
Subie only has about 26K on it.  Thanks

Do you have it in manual mode? If not, the CVT will automatically slide down to under 3k rpm at 80. So check both ways. Maybe you're errantly pulling the shifter leftward into manual mode, thereby requiring a paddle shift? If you're SURE you're not shifting sloppily get SOA to investigate. Otherwise sometimes egg on one's face can taste good, believe me.
