Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving on the freeway when i heard a noise like a
piece of metal flinging off the road as it faded away.  I
looked in the rearview mirror and saw a piece of something
that look like a brake shoe bouncing off the highway it
sounded like it came from under my car I did not run it over
about 7 or 10 minutes later my reduced engine power light

bit of the exhaust system, possibly the catalytic converter, or the oxygen sensor back there at the catalytic converter, try the onboard scanner by pluggin in an OBD-II code reader, may tell you which faults that you need to tend to, really am just shooting from the hip here, get befuddled by Jetronic and thermo-time switches, but that is a different can of worms~

Better have the car put on a lift and inspected!
