2012 Jeep Liberty

I was driving down the road and then all of sudden
when I pushed the gas it wouldn’t go the rpm just
shot up pretty fast but I wasn’t going anywhere. I
coasted down the road for a minute turned a corner
and tried the gas again and it worked fine.

Ok we are missing information. When you were coasting and pressed on gas pedal did you hear engine rev up?
