Can the Chrysler be shifted into the manual mode while already moving in drive?

I have hills to go up and down, in winter I would like to know if I have to pull off to engage
the manual shifting.

Auto. transmission cars with manual mode are designed so that you can shift into manual mode / tiptronic mode while driving. Just be careful to not shift into too low a gear for the speed you're driving at. i.e. If you're doing 50 MPH, don't try to get it into 1st or 2nd gear. Some of the newer systems won't allow you to anyway, as a safeguard.
