What is the cost to replace timing chain?
I have a 2012 Hyundai Elantra with less than 43,000 miles. I was hearing a
noise and took it to the shop. They said it is an issue with the timing chain and
will cost between $3000 and $5000 to fix it. Does this sound reasonable?

You have a ten year warranty on the drive train and the chain is part of the engine. And you have VERY low miles. If they argue that the chain is not covered, complain until you hear a reasonable response. Your argument should include the fact that Hyundai does not recommend servicing a timing chain as they are designed to last the life of the engine.
