It could be a few things The battery could be defective The terminals are loose or corroded Your starter is going/gone

Im going to hook up friends battery to rule out if battery is the cause. I know in older model car i had that when ignition makes clicking its was starter cylinoid. Alternator something of that ilk. If i hook up one of those code things will it tell me my problem without starting car

You can only read a code if the cel is on. And cel doesn’t tell you if it starter or battery

There's a starter relay on the fire wall. Check battery cables first to make sure they are tight and clean.
