ahhh my car is steam smoking

Asked by Jul 17, 2016 at 09:09 PM about the 2007 Ford Taurus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving my ford taurus 07 and as I was
stopped I seen what I thought was smoke
luckily I was was right down the road from
my house. When I shut my car off I opened
the hood and it was steam coming out from
the back middle part of my car. I also
opened up the coolant cap and the coolant
came pouring out . The weirdness of it all is
that my car temp gage was still in the
middle like normal it didn't indicate that my
car was overheating. What does this sound
like the problem is? Does it mean that my
car is soon to be RIP?

I think there still maybe some hope for you just have to figure out why it overheated on you. First thing to check is to make sure the fan is working then it just maybe the thermostat needs to be replaced or a radiator hose busted. Start to check these things first.

Back middle part is probably a heater hose let loose or has a crack in it, then you lost coolant, it smoked and got hot. Replace the hose, and coolant and all should be OK again. No RIP.
