I just went from a 2010 WRX to a 2011 WRX STI and i think my 2010 was faster off the line up to 60mph. does this sound right? I almost feel like something is holding it back?

Yes, the gearing in the 6 speed WRX STi is not capable of hitting 60mph in 2nd gear, requiring another gear change.

Additionally, the engine mapping from the factory will cause a feeling of power loss/stutter at around 4000rpm. I highly suggest a Cobb tuner using a stage 1 tune, or having it dyno tuned by a reputable shop.

SI-Drive controller? Not sure if its this but it makes a big difference in driving when you switch it to sports+. The suspension locks up and grabs the ground and takes the corners like a breeze when they are switched on..

Pao, that only changes the distribution of power to the wheels, nothing to do with suspension.
