will 96 crown vic police interceptor engine fit in 02 crown vic

i have 96 cvpi engine and about to buy a 02 crown vic without engine and transmission so
i would like to know before or should i search for another body for the engine

Yes but...I would only swap the Long Block. Keep all of the '02 stuff with the '02 body. Valve covers, injectors, oil pan etc. Transmission: IDK. My consult a dismantler about that one.


how do i know if its a long block in my 96 police interceptor engine


The Long Block is the bare Heads and Block as an assembly - no covers or oil pan. A Short block is just the Block with the pistons and crank by itself.
