are ngk spark plugs better in a honda crv than champion iridium spark plugs?

Asked by Aug 13, 2017 at 08:53 PM about the 2011 Honda CR-V

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my 2011 Honda crv was getting 30 to 31 mpg until about 85,000 miles. then the mpg dropped to 28 with a cold engine hesitation taking off from stop signs. I ran some fuel injector cleaner through it 4 times and changed the air cleaner with no improvement. so I put some champion iridium spark plugs in it. that got rid of the stop sign hesitation, but I am still only getting 28 to 29 mpg. since I drive about 500 miles a week, I try to get as many miles per gallon as I can. should I go back to ngk plugs or should I be looking for another problem? I do have a 40mph vibration in the morning when everything is cooled off, which I suspect may be a cv joint. if there is no discernible difference in spark plugs, and you have no other suggestions, I guess that would be my next suspect. thank you.
