2011 Jetta randomly will not start + dead radio
I have a 2011 Jetta and the radio went completely dead a couple months
ago. About two weeks later, I went to drive the car only to find it completely
dead (had to unlock the door manually.) Had the car jumped and it was fine,
although the radio still did not work. This happened two more times. I
should also note that I had put a new battery in January 2020. I took it to a
trusted garage who ran diagnostics but could not find anything wrong. They
suggested I take it to a Volkswagen dealer as maybe software was an issue.
The dealer at first could find nothing wrong with it, then decided it would be
best to charge me $750 for "electrical" and $1250 for a radio replacement. I
am going to go pick up the car instead because I don't think they actually
know what is wrong (just a hunch.) Also, of note, I don't care about having a
radio. Any suggestions by this group with be greatly appreciated!! Thank
you in advance.
