Engine Replacement

Asked by Aug 15, 2019 at 02:39 PM about the 2011 Nissan Versa

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Nissan Versa with around 140,000-miles.  My car starting
shaking and there was a ticking noise.  The dealer told me that the engine
was not getting compression and that I needed to replace the engine.  Does
this sound correct?  They said a new engine costs $9000 but will look for a
used engine.  I kept the car in decent shape and bought it brand new.  Is it
common that these kind of cars die after only 140,000-miles?  Not sure if its
worth replacing the engine.  Help!!
