2011 Subaru Legacy CVT Tranny is under warranty to be fixed (TSB 16-90-13R). Is the dealer going to replace the tranny or try and fix it?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Subaru Legacy with 133k and the CVT transmission is giving me the issue known here.

I have an appt. with the local Subaru dealer to have this fixed. What is the best fix for this situation? Replace CVT with a new one, rebuilt? What are they going to cover?

That service bulletin calls for a new torque converter. Ask the dealer what their plans are and complain to SOA if they are not installing a new transmission. Good luck.

That sounds like a good plan. My car is having the same exact problem as described in the article above and I do not want to run into this down the road again. I appreciate your help.
