Bmw, new battery + bad alternator, why want it start

My wife has a 2004 525i...had to jump the car a
couple days, meter says needs new alternator at
advance auto...im a otr truck driver, replaced
battery...crunk fine for a week, battery went dead
again, replaced battery again noe will not
crank...why will car not start w bad alternator and
New batrefy...please help!!!
