Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Mercedes c 180 (W202) has suddenly failed to change gears, once moved to drive as shifting is ok all P,R,N,D, .. When i try to drive in this state there occurs leakage from the gearbox don't know where from exactly. What could be the problem?

1 Answer

Shifting problem is likely due to low trans fluid level. Transmissions have seals and gaskets. I'd suspect one of these is leaking and causing all your problems. If you know about the leak and shift problems, why haven't you taken the car to a transmission pro yet?
