Navigation

Asked by mutmal Jan 11, 2011 at 03:34 AM about the 2011 BMW 7 Series

Question type: General

Hi. I just bought a 730LI and trying to figure a way in the navigation to put the destination from the interactive map. Anybody have an idea? In my old 528 car I used to do that from the map.
Is there a user manual in PDF format. The interactive manual is not detailed and is clumsy and require you to stay in the car.

Hi. Thank you for responding. I dont understand what is e-32? and what is vin. My car as in the headline is 730LI 2011 with navigation. I bought it from the agency in Dubai. They call it Gulf specification. The last 7 digits of the Chasis no. is: C675365. Hope this info is enough.

E-32 Is the old 7 series where u could still get one with a 6 cyclinder .after that it was e-38 and in the states they only came in v8 engine but had diff models in europe.ok so your car is unknown to bmwna.which makes sense seeing it came from Dubai. You have an F01 or FO2 body style I would imagine.anyways try this first call the bmw assist and have them get your info cuz i tell u right now they dont have it.the vehicle may need to be updated with US software.there are dvds for the CIC (nav)make sure its a US version.if the also should be a traning dvd that came with the car.if not try pushing the hands free button on the steering wheel and telling it what u want to do.say "options if your not sure.that may need to have the language changed.but if your still having prob let me know ill walk u through it if its not a software issue that would need programming.

It should use read the map off the hard drive in the cic (car information computer).seeing how the vin of our car isnt coming up and its from another country it may have country specifc settiing and need to be programmed at a dealer.dont pay for this.may not work. for one and if your buyin cars from dubai bmw doesnt want to lose that customer.and they give away free stuff to every one that complains..
