I have the Key but lost the Remote

Asked by Guru6D2Z2 Mar 11, 2020 at 06:18 AM about the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The key broke off the remote. I have the key but lost the remote. Car not
starting, the alarm keeps going off. Does the remote have some sort of chip that
needs to be present for the car to start? Is it just having the key without the
remote enough?

That's right , there's a transponder in the ignition that gets a signal from the key chip telling the computer to run things , your experience may differ .
