What's the deal with Nitrogen (item 7 on the periodic table)?

Asked by migration_judge_roy Apr 24, 2013 at 01:22 PM about the 1964 Trabant 600

Question type: General

Nitrogen is odorless, tasteless, and colorless.
Nitrogen gas (N2) makes up 78.1% of the volume of the Earth's air.
item 7 on the periodic table.  Why are there Nitrous kits?  If it's inert why do we enhance
performance with this? Why is N2 controlled with your EGR valve to present to the
combustion 'here's nothing-enjoy' to bring down the combustion temperature~

he Trabant /trəˈbɑːnt/ is a car that was produced by former East German auto maker VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau in Zwickau, Saxony. It was the most common vehicle in East Germany, and was also exported to countries both inside and outside the communist bloc.
