00 Hyundai elantra press gas pedal to start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So we replaced alternator belt then throttle
position sensor and power steering pump in
that order an NOW my husband went out to
start it wouldn't start he held gas pedal an it
started couldnt let off the gas pedal an then
once it starts running good idles funny
sometimes it idles fine in park but most
times it stalls ive already put more money
into this car then he bought it for any ideas

Are there no lights on dash for trouble ? If so it needs a code scan if you can get it there like autozone for free to figure out where to start. There is a possible head gasket problem but that would be a code on lean mixture.
