i bought spare key i want to use in my 2010 silverado, how do i dissable atitheft so i can start truck with spare keys

It will not work. You need the correct chipped key that is programmed to your ignition. There is a way to disable the security system but it is a interface module for $300 that you would have to purchase.

If you have a working transponder key, do this. Start the engine with the working key. Shut off the engine and remove the key. Immediately insert the new key to be programmed. Turn the ignition to the run position. Do NOT try to start the engine. Watch the security light on the dash. When it goes out, usually within 5 seconds, turn off the ignition, do NOT remove the new key, and immediately start the engine. The new key is now programmed to the vehicle. BTW, new transponder key blanks for your truck aren't expensive. Check out eBay or Amazon. HTH. -Jim
