2010 F-150 will die when i put it in reverse and turn the wheel to the right or left

Asked by Guru7V5X May 19, 2017 at 04:06 PM about the 2010 Ford F-150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Everytime I put my 2010 f-150 in reverse, immediately after I put it in reverse it wont move. You have to let it sit for 10-15 seconds then it will start to back up. What could it be? Also when backing, I turn the wheel to the right and left and it dies. Help what could this be?

The hesitation in reverse gear engaging is transmission related. Absent any obvious transmission leak it is not the fluid level as the transmission is sealed. If it just one of the solenoids right under the pan the entire set has to be replaced as one cannot be serviced. That little beauty carries a 2G parts and labor charge.
