when putting the transmission into Reverse, a terrible, loud, gear crunching noise happens

i had a '98 and'05 and they both did that too but now i bought a 2011 and no more noise and its the most wonderful jeep i have bought so far!

What is the mileage? Low fluid level, service transmission filter/fluid, axle U joints, transfer case service, etc... Also if 4wd or 2wd switch hasn't fully disengaged.
