Has my 97 taurus been dropped from height?

Asked by 1DustMaker Jan 18, 2011 at 09:55 PM about the 1997 Ford Taurus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 Ford Taurus with less than 90 thousand miles that I purchased used
3 years ago.  I have replaced the entire front end piecemeal and am working on
replacing the steering pump for the third time in three years.  I have already
replaced the rack and pinion twice.  Is there an underlying cause for this or is my
Taurus simply suffering from shaken baby syndrome?

My SHO was having problems with power steering pumps also, apparently most of them you buy aren't very good. I would recommend buy a good quality one and make sure you get all the dirty fluid out when you put it in so you don't contaminate the new pump. http://shosource.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=61_39&products_id=281
