I purchased a 2010 Yaris 5spd to tow behind my motorhome and I just towed it 200 miles with the emergency brake brake on. What damage may have occurred to the car? I still have a partial park brake.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just purchased a 2010 Yaris 5spd to tow behind my  motorhome and I just towed it 200 miles with the parking brake on.  I still have some park brake left if pulled on hard.  What damage may have occurred to the car?  I love this little car and I have already changed out the wheels and added tinting.

you are almost certainly looking for new rear brake pads, and drums. Also will want to have the brake cable checked and reset, they'll do that when they do the brakes though. Good luck

Thanks Fred, that is what I kind of guessed...I didn't have the handle pulled up more that just 3 or 4 notches so I am thinking, and hoping just for new pads. Towd

I feel if there is any damage the worst case would would bet to replace the drums and brake shoes pull one of the rear brake drums and inspect the linings for damage and wear no major repairs should need done.
