Key turns freely but car won't start.

Asked by Oct 25, 2016 at 08:08 AM about the 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Vehicle ran, started fine, 3 hours later when trying to start it back up the
key spins freely in the ignition, all the acc power comes on but the car won't
start. Turning the key back to the off position does not shut off the acc
power. Disconnected the battery and reconnected it all power comes right
back on and key still turns freely in the lock. I have replaced the ignition
lock cylinder and the issue persists.
