Do a compression check on all cylinders. Any showing 0 psi will have bent valves. Must have timing belt back on correctly to do this test.

From what I have found It appears all Hyundai engines are interference engines. This means that if your belt broke while driving you probably have bent valves.

My timing belt broke on my 2000 Hyundai Sonata a couple years ago. It cost me 1000 dollars to fix the valves and to change the water pump while the mechanic had it taken apart. I've had nothing but problems with it for the past five or so years.
