Chevy cobalt shaking
I had my front brakes replaced, new tires,
alignment, tune up and new air filter and my car is
still shaking when i accelerate and brake
sometimes. Nobody can fix it or find anything
wrong because "no light" is on. Please help. What's
wrong with my car?
Well it's not your brakes nor your rotors because that only happens when you brake. It cannot be wheel bearing because you would hear it or notice it. It can only be your tires or alignment. You may have a weight missing from tires or bad spot. Carry it to a tire place that does alignment. Normally pepboys charge $50 for front alignment and they will check tires
I would take the car back that did the tires & find out if they did a balancing or if you have a bent rim. if you have shaking when you step on the brakes it could be the rotors. do you feel it in the steering wheel?
also any front end problem will not set the check engine light ! the check engine light is only for the engine & transmission.
Sounds like a suspension issue. Take it to a shop that specializes in that sort of work and have them do an inspection. I would suspect one of the front axles. When the CV joints in the axles go they will often do that.
I just had a similar issue. Turns out my shocks were REALLY bad. May check into that . . .
Shocks would not cause check engine light to come on. Shocks would only cause vehicle to drop and slam when going over bumps.
