ONLY WHEN RAIN, DAMP OR SNOW CAR PUTTERS AND WILL STALL
I have a 2005 Hyundai Sonata that runs terribly
every time it rains, snows or is damp outside. The
car will start but when in gear, bogs down or putters
and has stalled several times when idle. When it's
dry, the car runs pretty well. It has roughly 70,000
miles on it. I'm wondering if someone has
experienced this and may know the solution to
fixing this issue. Great timing, when it rains, it pours!
Or in my case, "when it rains, it stalls"
Have you ever changed the spark plug wires? They do breakdown with age. the other thing to check is the sensors actual readings, it is possible that one or more are just slightly out of specs but not enough to set a code.
I have not but that's where I will start. I just assumed that the issue only happens when it's wet outside, that may be easier to pinpoint
I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to maitenance. I was referred to this site for great advice and problem solving
Anytime I had a car that ran bad when it was damp out the plug wires were the first thing I changed if they looked old or original.
