Question type: Car Customization

I need to know two things...

1. If the manifold bolts are ripped from
the engine, do I need to get a new
block? If not, what is the quickest,
easiest, and smartest way to fix it?

2. If I need a new engine block I'm just
going to do a swap, so which engine
should I use to replace it? And what
will I need, and what interchanges?

If the bolts were yanked out somehow (??) you can use helicoils or time-serts to repair threads. Read up on the difference here: http://toolmonger.com/2009/09/16/thread-inserts-helicoil-or-time-sert/ also you can drill and tap oversize and buy bigger bolts, but you might have to drill out holes in manifold for oversize and the gasket may not seal around them properly.

If you end up doing an engine swap, to avoid having to buy extra parts that may or may not be compatible, use same engine, rebuilt/used as in it now
