How bo you remove the drive shaft on a 1958 am ambassador with a 327 and push button automatic trans

Not familiar with the ambassador, would the drive shaft run to the rear end? There would be 2 U-bolts, with 2 nuts or bolts each to be removed from the rear end, pry out the drive shaft from the yoke.

Ya this drive shaft has a solid case from the rear end to the trans

Neet, I have seen them before but never took one apart. Wonder if you could find anything out on line? If it were mine I would not be afraid to just tear into it, try to figure it out, gotta be a way.

Its called a torque tube . It’s a pain to do. You remove the rear axle and the torque tube goes with it
