dodge 09 ground clearance and tranny

Asked by zachd123 Aug 06, 2009 at 01:21 PM about the 2009 Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: General

what is the reason for the low ground clearance on the new 1500? is it somthing that can be removed like running boards or a bumper skirt or is it a gas tank or something like that? and when will there be a 6 speed?

its just the ride height of the vehicle it can easily be removed with a simple 3 1/2 inch lift (this would bring it to the stance of a 2003ish ram)

the new ram is more of a street vehicle. not much for a work truck anymore although it will get the job done. but the lower stance improves gas mileage and handling. and hwat exactly do you consider a lower stance? i mean i wouldnt be afraid to take it to a corn field and drive around or drive up over a curb. and im guessing a 6 speed could eventually be in the near future with the fuel mileage regulations coming up. but the ram is hands down the best new truck overall.

i meen like height wise a 3 1/2 in lift would bring it to the height of an older ram
