I have a 1997 escort lx.that needs a transmission. I found a
transmission out of a 19.99 lx.but the parts guy said that he
showed that it had to have the same transmission  only. Is
this true and can i use the transmission out of a 19.99 for
the 19.97..

Check the tags on both transmissions. If they match, you're fine. Hope that helps! Jim
