Being an obvious safety concern, I would have it checked out soon. But for now, check the brake fluid level and top it up if needed. If the level is good, then you have a failing/leaky master cylinder to replace. But if the level is very low and has dropped quickly, you have an active leak in the brake lines. Both possibilities should be fixed asap.
