Key security light flashing, battery wont hold charge, acceleration problems
8 weeks ago after a batch of dirty fuel my car has never been the same. The
tank wasnt flushed but fuel run as low as possible before putting fuel in it
again. Last week it started losing acceleration power ran sluggish and jolting.
Then battery went flat. After 24 hours on charge battery went flat very quickly
and the system security key is flashing on the dash board even when the keys
removed from the ignition. I am baffled. It recently had a major service
The battery issue is not related to the bad fuel. That would be a bad battery or alternator. I would replace the fuel filter and use a good fuel system cleaner.
Hi, thanks for that. The fuel filter was replaced recently. Im thinking maybe like you said bad battery or alternator.
If you have a lot of gunk in the tank you may need to replace the fuel filter again. Also clean and tighten the battery connections.
