Uh - sorry. The window went DOWN but did not come UP. We attempted to pull it up and it moved, but when my daughter attempted to close it with the switch, it did not move up - only down. Now I have plastic over it because its freezing rain. What is going on, any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Regulator cable probably jammed. Most places just replace the entire window regulator assembly. You can check videos on Youtube under Window Regulator assembly repair...

Some window motors have , in addition to a fuse , a "thermal switch" ... that will open the connection if the motor gets hot. Sometimes it takes a while for the thermal to reset itself. Go out to the car and turn everything off that makes noise ... now just tap the up on the switch. Do you hear anything? If you do .... put the heater on it's highest setting and give the car an hour to heat the interior up ... then try again

Been there before. I actually paid a guy to fix mine. (driver side). There was a small plastic piece on the bottom of the electronic window. If that's broke, it won't go up. If your window was frozen and even tried to roll down, it can break. Once it's damaged, it breaks easy. If your window seems off the track, that pics is probably broke.
